Vehicular Crimes

Reckless Driving

Reckless Driving is a class 2 misdemeanor. If you have been accused of reckless driving, there are many defenses that the prosecutor may not know and your defense attorney can use to either get the case dismissed or drop the charges down to a civil violation.

Reckless driving is defined as driving in reckless disregard for the safety of persons or property.

If you are found guilty of Reckless Driving the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) will place 8 points on your driving record. ADOT has discretion to suspend a person’s license when they have obtained between 8 and 12 points on their license. If you already have a speeding ticket points on your record, it is very likely the addition of the reckless driving will cause ADOT to use their discretion to suspend you.
